NeoCon World’s Trade Fair 2007 hosted several green-focused special events

  • GREENlifecelebrates sustainable design and the products, resources, people and education available to make smart business investments.  GREENlife hosts events like Women in Green: Voices of Sustainable Design, brings green associations together and includes a Green Environmental Design seminar track.
  • Taking the LEED Exhibit—Ten Cutting-Edge Sustainable Projects in Chicago, hosted by I4design magazine, showcased 10 projects of the visionary works of architects and designers who are making a difference in Chicago
  • The World You Wish For, We Work For, presented by the Delta Institute. Keynote Eileen Claussen, of the Pew Center on Global Climate Change, discussed climate change policy
  • Green Building Trolley Tour brought NeoCon attendees, on a bio-diesel trolley, to facilities in Chicago that have instituted Green Building practices and that promote sustainable initiatives
  • LEED-CI Green Scene helped NeoCon attendees locate green products and manufacturers

Historic Chicago Bungalow and Green Home Expo

The annual Historic Chicago Bungalow and Green Home Expo was held at The Merchandise Mart on Saturday, October 27, 2007. The event, co-created by the Historic Chicago Bungalow Association, the Chicago Department of Housing and the Chicago Department of Environment, brought together contractors, craftsmen, manufacturers and service firms and more than 8,500 attendees to promote environmentally friendly home restoration. The event focused on home restoration, energy efficiency and green building technologies plus information on resources, loans and grants available to Chicago homeowners.

A green fashion show was held during October 2007 STYLEMAX. The even highlighted resources that renew, reinvent and regenerate fashion with their eco friendly message.
